Mr Awwad M. Awwad is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the BUPA Cromwell Hospital London and an Honorary Consultant to the West Middlesex Hospital London.
His pioneering research and ground breaking work in blood flow, transplant and microsurgery has lead to a distinguished consultant career in plastic surgery practice for over three decades. He has been in private practice in London since 1990; his work at the BUPACromwell Hospital established a new model in the private healthcare sector combining the disciplines of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
Mr. Awwad is a founding member of the first set of Medical Chambers to be established in the UK. He was one of the first plastic surgeons to introduce the notion of non-surgical rejuvenation as a viable alternative to surgical enhancement. He is an advisor to leading product companies in the area of medical aesthetics as well as engaging in advanced research in this developing area.
Mr Awwad’s main area of work encompasses a balance of Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery in keeping with the professionally accepted mode of practice. He regards the notion of Aesthetic Surgery as an integrated part of Plastic Surgery. His main surgical interests in Reconstructive Surgery include complex wound problems, and scar reconstruction, minimally invasive hand and peripheral nerve surgery, whilst his interest in Aesthetic Surgery covers all aspects of facial rejuvenation, breast surgery which includes breast redefining surgery, reduction and augmentation as well as body contouring. He is a Full member of The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons and holds dual qualification as a Specialist Plastic Surgeon in the UK and Denmark. He is registered on the Specialist Register for Plastic Surgeons at the General Medical Council and also holds a Certificate in Specialist Training in Plastic Surgery from Denmark.
